There are a few things you need to do to optimise your site for all search engines.

In a nutshell these include:

Having unique title and meta description tags on all your pages which include keywords that are relevant to the content on that page.

Including relevant, unique, content on your pages which your visitors will find useful.

Having other websites link to your content from their web pages.

If you want to optimise your site specifically for Bing,

there are some points to consider in addition to the above:

Bing appears to like text on a page (ideally 300 words or more).

Owners of old domains will do well. Bing tends to put more weighting on older "more trusted" domains.

Bing seems to like websites that link out to other relevant sites.

For Health Searches Bing usually takes up the first slot from its content partners such as Mayo Clinic and MedStory, but it is still worth optimising your content to appear as high

as possible. Users with health related questions will often visit several sites in order to get a more rounded opinion.

Bing also claim it will now be more difficult for disingenuous sources of healthcare information to rank highly in their results.

If your site is an ecommerce site then your most effective form of advertising will be in the form of pay-per-click advertising. Once again, Bing usually takes up the first free organic slot with content from its shopping portal.

To optimise your eCommerce site for Bing you should include as much rich media on your product pages as possible. Use images, videos, text and user generated content such as reviews to ensure Bing lists you in as many places as possible e.g. image searches, video searches etc. Syndicate your products to places such as price comparison and review sites.

In the UK in particular Ciao.com is partnered with Bing so having your products featured on this site will enable you to benefit from Bing's traffic.
